It could be either. They began with 343 and later 345 and then went to 340 to match the 240 and 260.

Yes, 3 series, 4 cylinders, 3 or 5 doors.
Was originally supposed to be the DAF 77.

Judging by the lights and chrome bits it does indeed seem to be a 343, and quite an early one even.
